The starting point to any commission is our first meeting. We ideally like to meet in the client's home as this gives us an opportunity to understand their tastes and styles. The purpose of this meeting is to establish a detailed brief for the project, and to discuss timescales and budgets. Clients are most welcome to visit our workshop as well so they can see where their handmade furniture is constructed before and during the process.
We then develop ideas based on the brief and meet a second time to discuss them and show you relevant samples, sketches or drawings to explain our ideas. It is very important that our clients feel they can be open and honest from the beginning so we are sure we capture everything they hoped for in the design. During this meeting we will ideally agree a way forward with the design that will enable us to prepare a final presentation. At this stage it is usual to invoice clients for a deposit to allow us to order materials and begin workshop production. We also aim to sign off the design too but sometimes more meetings are required to iron out the details. Once made, the furniture is delivered to site and installed by us.
